Understanding Sunshine’s eligibility criteria will help you refer a child for a Sunshine dream with confidence.

Sunshine can fulfill Individual Dreams all year round for children living in Canada. To bring a dream to a child, a formal request must be reviewed by our national office staff and volunteers in London, Ontario. You can get the ball rolling very simply, just by submitting one of our referral forms with the child’s name, his or her diagnosis, age, and home contact information. Copies are available from Sunshine, or you can download one by clicking on this Referral Form (pdf format) link. Sunshine will contact the family directly for more information or will send a formal dream application. Sunshine staff will contact you if we require more information about the child’s eligibility.

Sunshine also organizes Sunshine Dreamlifts for specific places across Canada. If you are a medical professional working with the children Sunshine serves, you may be asked to identify children to take part once plans are made for a Dreamlift in your area. You might also be able to volunteer as a medical attendant on the trip or as one of the "buddies" assigned to the children for the day.

Sunshine Dreams for Kids makes dreams come true for children ages 3 to 19 who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.
